Harpist Janet King: Listen Here!!
Here are sound samples. Many of these clips feature my harp, flute, & cello trio, and there is trumpet as well, but all music can be performed equally well on the harp alone, or in ensemble with different combinations of instruments.
(These sound samples are intended to let you hear what my music sounds like, not as a menu for you to choose music from. It's not the best list for that -- call me to discuss music selection. For more information on each clip, click on the music title.)

the popular Pachelbel's Canon in D, performed on just the harp alone.
Pachelbel's Canon in D
(Harpist Janet King Trio)
Everyone's favorite! The new traditional march for the bridal party. It can be played on the harp alone, or with any combination of instruments. Here, you hear it with harp, flute, and cello.
Pachelbel's Canon in D
(Harpist Janet King, trio)
This is the famous Canon, performed with trumpet and cello. We recorded this live at a church wedding ceremony, performed while the bride walked down the aisle. You hear the harp alone first, then joined by trumpet and cello. What a great combination! Note how we time the music exactly for the length of time that the bride took to walk down the aisle.
Ave Maria
(Harpist Janet King, with Trumpet and cello)
This Ave Maria was recorded live at a church wedding. It features trumpet, with harp and cello.
recorded live at a nuptial mass
Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring
All these samples were recorded live at a nuptial mass (June 20, 2009). You will hear the sounds of people moving around in the church... You can also hear the priest praying, and you can hear the harp with an organ located at the opposite end of the church, which makes it a bit challenging to coordinate!

One of our specialties is improvising -- we were just inventing this music as we went along. We never played this exact same music before, and we've never played it again since!
